đŸ§» Penny’s Picks: Hammermill Premium Cardstock

This month’s pick isn’t flashy—but it’s the backbone of the sass.
If you’ve ever held one of our tags, signs, or bookmarks and thought, “Well that feels sturdy,”—you’ve met Hammermill.

đŸ’Ș Why It’s a Pick

  • 110 lb weight: Thick enough to hold up to layering, adhesives, and Appalachian humidity
  • Smooth finish: Crisp prints, no fuzzies, no weird texture surprises
  • Bright white: Colors pop, ink stays sharp, and photos look polished
  • Plays nice with printers—especially my HP 7600 series, which can be picky with heavy stock but handles this like a champ

đŸ› ïž How It Fits the Rhythm

  • Easy to batch and trim
  • Holds up to hole punches, corner rounds, layering, and embossing
  • Doesn’t curl up and quit when the weather shifts
  • Makes every piece feel intentional, not flimsy
  • I buy it by the case on Amazon—usually the 5-pack with 1000 sheets. One case lasts me about five months, and it keeps the studio humming without a hitch.

✂ Cutting Settings (Cameo 5)

I cut everything on a Silhouette Cameo 5, and this cardstock handles beautifully.
Here’s what works for me:

  • Material: Heavy cardstock
  • Blade: Auto blade
  • Cut setting: Blade depth 5, Force 33
  • Speed: 4 for most cuts, 1 for detailed designs
  • Passes: 1
  • Mat: Standard grip, well-used but still sticky enough to hold firm

These settings give me crisp cuts without tearing or fuzzing—and they hold up across batches.
If your blade’s older or starting to dull, you can bump the force slightly or add a second pass. Just keep an eye on the edges—clean cuts mean happy cardstock.

🛒 Where to Find It

Look for Hammermill Premium Cardstock, 110 lb, 8.5x11, with the panda on the package.
It’s listed as Thick Card Stock, Made in the USA, 168400C.
You’ll find it on Amazon, often with Prime shipping and bulk options. Just don’t confuse it with the thinner Hammermill versions—this one’s the heavyweight champ.

đŸŒČ Why It Matters

In a studio built on storytelling and handmade charm, the paper has to hold up.
This cardstock does the job without fuss—and that’s why it’s this month’s Penny’s Pick.

Thanks for being here.  Would love to hear your thoughts, or what is your fav cardstock!

Nobody paid me to say this. I use this cardstock every day in my studio, and it’s earned its spot in my stash. Just a real-world recommendation from someone who trims, prints, embosses, and layers with it constantly.
